Larry is an accomplished trial and appellate attorney. He is a widely-acclaimed lecturer and author on medical malpractice and health care quality. Among his many faculty appointments he served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a Senior Research Fellow at Duke University. His other notable clinical appointments include Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, The Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, and Yale Medical School. Larry is admitted to practice in North Carolina and before various federal courts.
Josiah is a seasoned North Carolina trial attorney. He handles a variety of civil matters and focuses on medical malpractice in his work with the firm. He has experience clerking in the North Carolina appellate courts and a wealth of professional connections in Eastern North Carolina through his civic involvement. Josiah is admitted to practice in North Carolina and before numerous federal courts.
Jason has had a diverse legal career over approximately twenty years. He primarily handles environmental and business transactional matters in his practice with the firm. Jason has worked on dozens of complex environmental projects throughout the country primarily involving Clean Water and Endangered Species Act mitigation offsets and habitat protection. He also handles other business and commercial real estate matters.
Jason has deep roots in the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina, and has served as an officer of the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of North Carolina, a public interest trial attorney representing domestic violence victims in coastal North Carolina, and a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security through his work with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jason also served as a federal defense attorney member of the CJA Panel for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Jason is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and Massachusetts and before various federal courts.
Mara Howard-Williams, MPH
Health Law Researcher and Legal Epidemiologist
Mara works closely with the attorneys to develop strategic approaches in health law and other matters. Her experience in health policy and program development adds a unique dimension to the firm’s capabilities. Mara received her Masters of Public Health from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked in legal epidemiology domestically and in international program development and monitoring. Mara is completing her studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law where she serves as Contributing Editor to the North Carolina Law Review.
